=============================================

Texas has somewhat different requirement from the one supplied with
WinPawn you downloaded from our website.

Please follow these steps:

1. Copy the files here in this zip file over the old files in the
WinPawn directory (folder) - usually c:\wpawn400.

2. Printer setup: You will need two (or more) printers

a) A regular page printer for printing general invoices like Sales,
LayAways, Redeems, Pawn extensions (Payments) Buys, and reports. An
inkject or laser is fine for that.

b) A dot matrix printer to print out the half page Pawn (only) forms
prescribed by Texas state. The printer must be set to IBM proprinter
mode.
Go to WinPawn Workstation setup and check the checkbox
[x] Use Separate Pawn Printer
and below that select your dot matrix printer for Pawn printing.

We has used Burell Printing Company Pawn form 10-4320 (2006) to
orient the printing positions.

3. You may need to change, the sales tax, etc, and the legal wording
on front of non-pawn invoices in WinPawn setup (goto
File/SystemSetup/InventoryParameters and click on the [Titles, legals,
printing] button). You can also change the customer information
appearing on invoices from standard to individual invoice type. Use
the [Customer codes] button.

4. The files include a special file which calculates the interest
rates for texas. It will ignore the interest rates you put in
WinPawn "Pawn markup %" tab setup table. You can still setup "Other
fees", for example to charge for lost ticket fee.

5. The special file TexasRates.txt has Texas pawn interest rates. If
the rates change you can edit this file - instructions are in the
first three lines. Recommend you use Notepad or a simple text editor
and not MSword which can change the format of the text file and
introduce errors in interest rates.
