WinPawn Florida State Instructions:
===================================

Recent requirements: Since about 2004 Florida state has
required each shop to send a sample pawn/buy ticket
for approval. Print out a good sample pawn ticket illustrating
information printed on the ticket and send it to the state
for approval.

You need to extract the files inside florida.zip file (or folder)
into the WinPawn directory (usually C:\wpawn400) over the same files.

MORE INFO:
============================================================

Florida interest is set for a 60 day default, with 30 day prorating
unit and $5.00 minimum and then prorated daily after that. These
things can be changed in Setup but make sure you know what you are
doing or they can be messed up. Once set they should not be changed
later in mid stream for customers.

If the Pawn/Buy legal wording is not exactly suitable for you, it can
changed in File/SystemSetup/InventoryParameters the
Invoice/TicketLegals button.

WinPawn can print pawn/buy tickets on separte printer from
Sales/layaways printer. You can seelect the printer in
File/SystemSetup/WorkStationSetup.

You can use multipart paper with dot matrix printers or laser/inkjet
printers with single standard sheet paper - the later is recommended
for better print quality. The back of the pawn/buy paper should have
the standard Florida PawnBroker-Pledgor/seller legal fine print. A
copy is enclosed here in Windows write format in the file
backside.wri.

With inkjet or laser printer using standard sheet paper, you can
simply copy the legal stuff with a copier on a ream of standard paper.
The other side then is used for WinPawn ticket/invoice printing.
Places like Staples office stores will print it for you for about
2cents/page in quantities of 1000.

POLICE REPORTS
============================================================

Some Florida county police departments require a report file on floppy
or other means in a specific format.

There are two files Polrep1.app and Polrep2.app files that generate a
flat file format report. One or the other may be used by your local
police department. There is a slight difference between output format
from one to the other. You need to copy one of these files to
"POLREP.APP". If it does not satisfy your police department wishes
then erase it and copy the other one to "POLREP.APP". The POLREP.APP
file is used by Winpawn to cause the "File" type report to be written
to a file (floppy or whatever) in a specific police file format. It
also creates another file SHOPID.TXT the first time it is run which
requires you to enter your police Shop Id code.

YOU CAN DELETE EITHER OF ABOVE FILES IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE
CORRESPONDING FUNCTIONALITY. Without the Polrep.app file the report
sent to a file is simply a copy of the printed police report.

Police Report POLREP.APP SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
----------------------------------------------
Customer ID's:

You must use SS and DL codes in the ID1 and/or ID2 fields and DL's
outside of florida must have state abreviation first.
The format order is:
Agency IDtype IDnumber

Valid Examples:

TX DL 39484737329 (Texas DL)

FL DL 494-8379-98

DL 1234567 (assumed FL)
SS 485732929 (assumed US)

CD DL 39547328 (probably Canadian DL)
CD SI 29384745 (probably Canadian Social Ins. No.)

Invalid examples:

D/L Texas 39484737329

Social Sec. No. 802309234

NAME and BRAND codes:
---------------------
Firearms or jewelry is setup to correctly report the NAME and/or
BRAND. But if you add to main category lists you can add the NAME and
BRAND code to each item name so that the name of the item (for example
CHAINSAW), is correctly entered as NAME in the police report and the
brand of the item (for example HUSQARNA) is entered as BRAND in the
police report. The items that do not have specific NAME codes simply
use the root category as name - for example OFFICE EQMT. instead of
DESK or COPIER.
